I went to the Jeffersonville Indiana store last weekend in mind to buy a handgun. I knew which one I wanted. While looking in the case I’ll just the only one there. The two associates didn’t even Acknowledge me. I did go to another store, but it definitely wasn’t Academy sports and bought the same fire arm that was in their case.

This is by far among the top worst experience I have ever endured at a store, from the terrible order online to the rude staff to the 3 hours I waited for what took all of 5 minutes. Do not buy even for the deal they may have. Run far.

Ordered $140 in clothes. It's been over a month, haven't seen anything! No emails, no product, so evidently it's a scam. Don't put your card in here. Cause you never will get your product. You can't go online and track your product purchase. Because the order number that I screenshot doesn't work. Just another scam to take a person's hard earned money.

First-time customer setting up my account with credit card, then decided to use PayPal and in between all this, I forgot to add my 10% off coupon. Immediately after hitting the button, I tried to contact them through their Chat which got me nowhere, so I called. I waited on hold 12 minutes and the lady told me I can't apply the coupon because my order is being filled. Wow, within 10 minutes you're filling my order! I doubt it. I asked if they could just credit my account or give me a gift card, after all, I spent $270 there. Nope, not willing to help at all! Last time I will ever order from them.

I made a online purchase in December and an e-gift card came along with my purchase. I received a separate email with my e-gift card information on it. I saved the email and went back to it a few hours later to do some shopping with it. The pertinent information needed was no longer visible. The email showed that I viewed the gift card but it no longer had the account number nor the PIN number. I had to spend over 1.5 hours getting it straightened out the first time.
The service representative was knowledgeable and helpful getting another email sent with all the information I needed to use my gift card. It was sent to me in another email. Which the same thing reoccurred…after closing the email and returning to it a few days later, the pertinent information needed was no longer there once again. I had to go through the same process…fortunately the 3rd time I took a screenshot of the e-gift card because after viewing the new email the same thing happened.
Shame on Academy Sport for allowing their system to do such repeatedly! How many people would just get frustrated and not fool with it... there was a time I would have walked away for lack of time to invest in getting the necessary information in order to spend the gift card money… I thought originally it was just a glitch, but it happened 3 times before I wised up.
Take screenshots of your e-gift cards while viewing in the email to prevent wasting time with Academy Sports trying to obtain what is rightfully yours. Shame on Academy, it sure appears that is a clever way to add to their bottom line! Unused gift cards for most people will not spend their valuable time to get such straightened out….

Went to Academy Sports with Husband. He wanted to purchase a firearm for me, well were told he couldn't get one if he was giving it to me, so he bought it for himself, then was denied, which is crazy since he had just purchased 2 other firearms from 2 different stores, but could not purchase one here, so I went and got my own card, went to purchase my own firearm. I have a CWP, IN SOUTH CAROLINA, they wouldn't sell me a weapon. I'm confused. Will no longer carry their card, will advise all to discontinue their accounts. This store sucks.

Bought a local newspaper on Thanksgiving Day that included the Black Friday flyer. Pitt Boss Competition Smoker advertised for $399.99. Got up early Friday morning and checked the website. It said Out of Stock. Checked 2 other locations. Both showed Out of Stock. Sign up email for future availability. Got up Saturday morning 7:45 am. Checked websites. All 3 stores showed limited stock with price increase to $499.99. No email sent. Called Apex, NC store. Manager said there was probably one in a truck. Asked for Black Friday price. Answer was no. I feel it was falsely advertised. Manager said they all were sold 4 days prior at $499.99.

I bought a rifle scope that was on sale on line 8/23/2023 and it was to arrive on 8/28/2023 - 8/30/2023. As of 9/12/2023 there no details except preparing and no tracking for order # **. I tried to cancel but could not. This is not the first time this has happened but it will be the last.

I ordered a product with a deal price. There was no movement and the order was canceled when we entered the estimated delivery date. And they just say; Sorry! Out of stock! And, the product is listed again at a regular price! Also, still waiting refund! Be aware of this company, especially SALE products. Tip for consumers:
I never prefer Academy again!

I ordered a pair of Kansas City Chiefs Shorts from the Springfield Academy store on Aug. 14th. Suppose to be ready to pick up on Aug. 21st. Called the store to see if they were ready? The shorts were Not there and they didn't know where they were! Called the store everyday that week and still they didn't know where they were. They were No Help at All! And Everyone I talked to could care less! Called on Aug. 28th a full 2 weeks since I ordered the shorts. Was told the they shipped out of the Olathe Kansas store on Aug. 15th. And Evidently they came in with (what I can only guess) was other Kansas City Chiefs apparel and was put out on the floor as floor stock.
The Only good thing about this is Store Manager Bryan found out what happened and I was able to pick up my shorts today. Aug.28. Oh and they gave me a $5.00 off coupon... Yippee! I gave it away to someone in the store on my way out. At this point I honestly don't think I'll be buying Anything from Academy sports Again! Janet **
