What is a Supercharged Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)?

The Supercharged BBL is a modification of the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure — it combines liposculpture and fat grafting with silicone cohesive implants. When a combination of implants and fat transfer can work together, they achieve a more natural result smoothing implant edges with your own fat to achieve the desired look.

During the Supercharged BBL procedure, your surgeon will make small incisions on the donor sites, such as the abdomen, flanks, and arms. A blunt-tip cannula is used to extract excess fat cells from the donor site. The harvested fat tissues are then purified and prepared for transfer into the buttocks and hips.

Supercharged BBL also enhances the shape and size of the buttocks through the insertion of cohesive silicone implants placed inside of the gluteus muscle. The size of implants used will depend on your anatomy and muscle. The exact size will be determined in the theatre.

Each patient is different and will experience pain at different levels. To ensure the actual procedure remains pain-free for you, we will administer a general anesthetic so you are asleep throughout. We also prescribe post-treatment pain medications to alleviate the soreness and discomfort after the procedure.

How do I prepare for Supercharged BBL?

As with most other surgical procedures, you must stop smoking at least four weeks before your Supercharged BBL, and you must continue abstaining for four weeks after the procedure. We might also ask you to stop taking certain medications. You may have to fast before the procedure, and you must inform us of all your health conditions and medication usage.

What is the recovery like after Supercharged BBL?

Putting pressure on the implants may affect the way they settle into the buttocks, as well as being uncomfortable. Due to this, you are required to lay and sleep on your front after the surgery for a six-week period. You must also wear compression garments during this time. The surgical drains placed during the surgery will be removed seven days post-op. The drains remove any excess liquid and fluids from the body, lowering the risk of infections.
