Kitchen Spring Decor Ideas

I always find the kitchen the easiest place to switch out for the seasons. Just a few simple changes and seasonal touches can really make a big impact! If you’re looking to add a little spring to your own kitchen, here are a few of my favorite spring decor ideas and decorating tips…

Kitchen Spring Decor Ideas (3)

Decorate with functional pieces.

Since kitchen counter space is prime real estate, I like to keep things fairly simple and try to find pieces that are both cute and functional in a kitchen space. This little spring vignette in the corner, is almost all items that I use regularly. The bunny cookie jar is actually a great storage space for a ton of smaller kitchen items when not in use for actual cookie storage. Currently ours holds some seasonal dish towels, but it would work to hide cleaning supplies, cookie cutters, measuring spoons, or anything else you’d like to keep close by but out of sight.

The little bunny holding the carrot is a salt and pepper shaker {I seem to have a bit of an obsessions with cute salt and pepper shakers!} and the large mixing cup holds some of our table linens. You can even see our milk frother {which I LOVE!} tucked away in the back.

Kitchen Spring Decor Ideas (5)

Use Trays to Corral Items.

Using trays are a great way to display kitchen pieces without making the space look too cluttered. They also make it a lot easier to clean the counter top as you can just move the one tray instead of moving a bunch of smaller items! This tray beside our stove always gets one little seasonal item added to it and the rest of the items pretty much stay out year round.

I also always use a tray of some sort beside our sink to hold our dish and hand soap. Right now I have a cake stand out but I’ve used a small cutting board and a berry basket in the past too.

Kitchen Spring Decor Ideas (8)

Smell the Flowers.

Fresh flowers are one of my favorite things about spring and they totally brighten up the kitchen. Even washing dishes isn’t so bad when you have those flowers to look at! Tulips are one of my favorites at this time of year and you can usually pick up a bunch for a few dollars at the grocery store. I often like mixing in another longer lasting flower as well such as freesia or alstroemeria. For more tips on making fresh flowers last longer, check out this post.

Add Some Art.

Artwork is an easy way to add some interest and color to your kitchen and can easily be changed up throughout the seasons. I usually have at least one framed seasonal printable on display and store a bunch of prints behind the displayed artwork to make it even easier to switch up. If you don’t have any free wall space, just tuck a frame in along the backsplash.

If you’re looking for free printables, you can find the Cottontail Farm printable HERE.Ialsohaveanumber of other free Easter and spring designs HERE,HERE and HERE!}. There’s nothing quicker and easier than decorating with printables!

Kitchen Spring Decor Ideas (11)

Create Pretty Food Storage.

Since you already need to store food in your kitchen, you might as well use it for some kitchen decor! A pretty bowl or basket with fruit can add some nice color to the space or use cute mason jars to hold frequently used food items. I love having smoothies for breakfast {especially as the temperatures start to warm up} and created a little smoothie bar in one of the corners of our kitchen about a year ago. It makes it so quick and easy to grab a smoothie in the morning and makes for a cute display!

Kitchen Spring Decor Ideas (12)

Of course, right next to the smoothie bar is my little jar of mini eggs. A healthy smoothie means you can have more chocolate, right?

Put Together a Spring Centerpiece.

Spruce up your table with a pretty table runner and cute spring centerpiece. I like to keep the centerpiece really simple so it doesn’t take up too much space. If you’re using smaller items in your centerpiece place them on a tray to make a more cohesive look and make it easier to remove from the table when needed.

Kitchen Spring Decor Ideas (15)

Play with a Chalkboard.

Chalkboards are the perfect way to add some seasonal decor to your space without taking up a lot of space. Plus, they can be changed up for any holiday and don’t require any seasonal storage. If you haven’t tried playing around with chalkboard designs yet – give it a go! Chalk is very forgiving so don’t be worried about being perfect. Just stick with a simple design and have fun! Check out my chalkboard 101 tips if you’re just getting started.
